Leigh McCall Obituary

Leigh was born on April 16, 1967 and adopted by the late Booker T. McCall, a retired Army Veteran, and Elizabeth McCall, a retired school teacher.

Leigh leaves to cherish one sister Ann Smith, of Jacksonville Ar. 2 nephews, Michael McCall of Baltimore Maryland, Anthony McCall of San Diego California, Latoya Green, of Jacksonville Arkansas. Leigh married Yolanda McCall and they have 4 children: Shalanda, Jasmine Tyshon, Deshon. Leigh has two brothers, David Pruitt and John Pruitt and an aunt, Gloria Lee Aldridge of Wynne Arkansas. Leigh enjoyed spending valuable time with his Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins of Pine Bluff, AR. Leigh was graciously welcomed into the family of the Townsends who always had love for one more. Mom shared that she named him Leigh and she preferred this spelling because it was different than most.

Leigh was a member of St. John Baptist church in little rock and then Eastside Church of Christ. Leigh never met a stranger, and you quickly became his friend. He would give you the shirt off his back and always was a protector of family and friends. He was always ready to share a kind word and the best listener ever. He would never have a conversation without mentioning his boys who were his close friends, Damond Akbar, and Mike Williams. He learned he was adopted while in his 30s and was reunited with his bio mom, Ms. Juanita Houston Pruitt, a few years before she passed. Ann and Leigh were in the same group home for adoption and the McCalls noticed that when they went to the group home, these 2 kids were always playing together, and would never leave each other. The couple decided that they would like a girl and a boy and Leigh and Ann were chosen to come home forever at the ages of 3 and 4 with this family. Ann always felt safe knowing that her big brother was around and will forever cherish his devotion to family first. He worked hard all his life and had the greatest relationship with God. He would “argue” I mean challenge (smile) emoji) you in conversation about anything, but also would give you credit if you were right. The family of “Big Leigh” would like to thank you for looking out for him and for being a friend. He would always look for a reason to set up the grill and the whole neighborhood was invited. He loved fishing and was a cub scout when he was younger. We love you Leigh, and we know you up there in heaven having a conversation with Peter and Paul and letting them know that you are one of God’s favorites.
