Melvin Thomas Floyd, 72, departed home to glory on February 18, 2023. Born on September 6, 1950, in Newport, Arkansas, Brother Floyd was a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He enjoyed a 30-year career as an automotive engineer with the United Parcel Service (UPS). He was preceded in death by his parents Nathaniel and Eula Floyd, his sisters, Yvonne Dennis and Malinda Jones and his brother Rev. Nathaniel Floyd. Brother Floyd leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years, Charlotte Floyd, his sisters Brenda Floyd of Little Rock and Opal Floyd of Oklahoma City, his son Anthony ”Tony” Floyd(Tanisha), daughters Tonya Floyd Chambers(Anthony) and Tamara Valley(Orson), ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family hour will be Friday, February 24, 2023 at 6pm at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 3801 Springer Blvd, Little Rock, AR.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 1709 John Barrow Rd. in Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
