Walter James Sims Sr.

Mr. Walter James Sims, Sr. entered eternal peace on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Christus St Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. Walter was born July 2, 1960, to the late Allen Sims, Sr. and Molly \Steen Sims-LaGrone in Little Rock, Arkansas. Walter accepted Christ at an early age. Walter Sims was a devoted father and brother. He attended Pine Bluff High School. He worked for the Arkansas Power & Light Company as a line technician, the Pine Bluff Cable Company as an installer, and was a long-haul commercial truck driver for many companies.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother, Allen Sims, Jr. He is also preceded in death by his longtime companion of 20 years, Teresa Ables.

He leaves behind to celebrate his life and loving memory: Three (3) Sons: Walter Sims, Jr. of Pine Bluff, AR; Mario Sims of Pine Bluff, AR; Myles Scott of North Little Rock, AR. Two (2) Daughters: Taleicha Sims of North Little Rock, AR; Alisha Sims of Pine Bluff, AR.  Three (3) Brothers: Donald Ray Sims of Pine Bluff, AR; Phillip Carl Sims, Sr. of Atlanta, GA; Andre Sims of Reston, VA. Three (3) Sisters: Dianne Sims Johnson of White Hall, AR; Juanita Sims of Houston, TX; Karen Sims of Houston, TX.  Twelve (12) grandchildren Nine (9) Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation hour 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Amos Chapel 1307 W. 16th Ave Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  A Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Forest Lawn Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR by Rev. James Johnson.
